Getting Started
Embedding your Popup
Hey there, it's Nevrie! đź‘‹
Getting your popups to appear on your site is easy thanks to our Instant Embed feature. Think of this as the "bridge" between PopupHero and your website. You only have to set this up once, and then you can manage all your popups without ever touching code again.
Let me show you how it works!
1. Connect your website
To start, we need to link your site to PopupHero. Head over to the Instant Embed page and click the Connect a Website button.
A window will appear asking for your website link. Enter your URL and click the blue Continue button.
Next, the window will show your unique embed code. Copy this snippet and paste it into the footer of your website (right before the closing </body> tag).
Once you've pasted the code on your site, click I have added the code.
2. Verify the connection
Now we just need to make sure everything is talking to each other.
Open your website in an incognito window and refresh the page a few times. This tells PopupHero that the code is live and working. Within a few seconds, the window should update to let you know verification is complete!
3. Choose where to show your popups
Now for the fun part. Refresh the Instant Embed page, and you’ll see your website listed on the right.
Find the dropdown labeled In this website and select Show on all pages (or pick specific pages if you prefer). Hit the Apply button at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
That’s it! Your PopupHero widget is now live and ready to show off your designs.
Troubleshooting
My website won't verify?
- Check the URL: Try connecting your website again, either adding or removing the www to match your exact site address.
- Try different browsers: Open your site in a few different browsers or devices to trigger the first "ping."
- Cache: Clear your site cache or use an incognito window to ensure the new code is loading.
Piece of cake, right? 🍰 If you run into any trouble, just send us a message at hi@answerly.io, we're happy to help!
